Former Braves superstar third baseman Chipper Jones will not be watching any more games umpired by MLB umpire Angel Hernandez and he's urging Braves fans and the rest of his Twitter followers who watch baseball to do the same.
During the Atlanta Braves' game against the Philadelphia Phillies, Jones tweeted his frustration with Hernandez and urged fans to boycott Hernandez for his calls during the game.
"Our only recourse, as fans, is to turn the station whenever he, or his crew, are on the field. When viewer numbers go down, MLB will notice," Jones tweeted.
Hernandez has facilitated over 2,500 MLB games, according to USA Today, but has developed a reputation among fans for missing some calls and being inconsistent with his strike zone.
"I will not watch a game, any game, officiated by Angel Hernandez! His incompetence amazes me and I'm tired of MLB doing squat about it! Nite," Jones tweeted.
When the Braves' next game came on Saturday, Jones still was thinking about Hernandez but watched NASCAR in instead.
"Y'all let me know how the 'MLB-how not to umpire' show goes in Philly tonite. I will be watching NASCAR in Daytona. Tweet me the mistakes!" Jones tweeted.
