Multi-talented young pop singer and actor Nick Cannon stars in the new film Monster House, a animated feature from the minds of Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. In it, there appears to be something mysterious about the house next door. Could it be haunted? Does it really have human traits, including a soul?

In the picture, Cannon plays a police officer who’s called upon to investigate the goings-on at old man Nebbercracker’s house.

The young actor remembers similar situations growing up. “As a kid, you always had that one spooky house on the street where an old lady lives with a bunch of cats and you don’t want to go over to her house for Halloween. You don’t even want to go past her gate because you might not come back. That’s why I thought the story was cool and something kids could relate to.”

Monster House features the unique process called “motion capture animation,” which is a blend of live-action cinema and computer-generated imagery.

Host of MTV’s sketch-inspired Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘n Out, Cannon will soon be seen in the Emilio Estevez directed Robert Kennedy assassination film Bobby and the independent movie Weapons. He’s also writing his own soon-to-be-produced boxing film. He is also head of his own multi-million dollar clothing line, PNB Nation.
