Starnes, has committed $90,000 over the next three years to the Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center at St. Mary’s Episcopal School. This is the second grant of this size that the Kite Foundation has made to Buckman Center.

The funds will be used to ensure high caliber programming and to expand educational outreach. The grand will enhance the season with three school performances, three master classes, two artist in residences with Memphis educational programs, a community series providing space and marketing support to three local groups, and the launch of the Buckman Conservatory, offering dance and art classes for all ages.

Over the past three years, the Kite Foundation’s support has enabled Buckman to offer nine educational outreach efforts to more than 10,000 Memphis area children, who witnessed unique performances they might never have seen otherwise.

“The Kite Foundation gift allows us to provide the highest quality programs and make an impact on Memphis’ youth by introducing them to exceptional international artists,” says Cindi Younker, director of the Buckman Center.
