Do you seriously believe that your illness can be reversed?

I’m amazed that after all these years we’re still being told that there is no hope once a person is stricken with cancer and diabetes.

SPOKANE, Wash. – After listening to a news report the other day about the number of individuals who’re at risk of getting cancer and diabetes, I was a little peeved because the newscasters did not offer a solution for controlling or arresting the aforementioned dreaded diseases.

I’m amazed that after all these years we’re still being told that there is no hope once a person is stricken with cancer and diabetes. I’m also shocked that we would believe someone’s report and not listen to our own bodies. For example, if you’re feeling good, can anyone say you’re not?

When talking to families about such illnesses, I ask them the question, “Why does death have to take your loved one?” Sometimes we don’t provide the proper care or nutrition to keep our loved ones and ourselves alive. There are caretakers who provide wonderful care, but an abrupt diet change may seem less important to others.

Can nutrition really heal or reverse an illness? This question is often asked when we’ve gone as far as we can with mainstream medicine. Wouldn’t it be nice, however, if we didn’t get sick at all? Preventive care would help to stop dreaded diseases in their tracks.

We often confess our faith and belief in God to get us through the day, but is there action behind those words? We’re tested and tried every day when it comes down to taking care of our health. In some cases, we really don’t take advantage of preventive care as we should. It’s the key to good health.

Another question I’m asked is, “Is there a shot or pill that I can take to reverse my illness?” Well, what about a pill to help you run or lift weights? This has to stop; it must begin with you. You can make the decision today to take charge of your health. If you’re doing it for someone else, you will be disappointed at your outcome.

Let me switch gears for a moment. This week has been a good one for the cancer patients and me in Spokane, Wash. There were breakthroughs, I should say. Everyone is now convinced that nutrition is vital in healing cancer. When I first arrived a few weeks ago, I really didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know what a person felt after going through what seemed an impossible journey.

When we’re stricken with a disease, we tend to ask people for their honest opinion, or ask what they would do if they, too, were stricken with the disease. Well, it’s hard to give the best advice if you’ve never experienced the same illness or never been saddled with health challenges.

There is a woman here at the resort who came with a bag of medicine. She’d had four brain tumors removed and a fifth one was beginning to bother her. Now she’s at her wits end. “What can I do?” she said. “The tumors keep returning and the pain is becoming unbearable.”

After going through what seemed to be impossible, the woman’s pain has turned into joy. She no longer takes medication, and just to see her live life to the fullest is a joy in itself. The hardest part about working with someone with cancer, though, is listening to the question, “Why me?”

When it comes to your health, what is it that lets you know you have arrived at that place of peace? What is your illness today? And have you given much thought about nutrition and all the benefits that sustain life?

Are you one that says what happens is a result of God’s plan for your life? Well, that’s not altogether true. If we just put the fork and spoon down and examine what we’re eating, some of those diseases just might disappear. Maybe some of the other problems will go away as well, and you’ll have your life back.

One final question: Do you seriously believe that your illness can be reversed? Cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure should never exist if nutrition is an important part of your life. Believe in yourself. Let the healing process begin today.
