11defenseplease 600After a road victory over former coach Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams last week, many figured a Titans victory over the winless Jacksonville Jaguars was automatic. That turned out to be bad math.

Thanks to four Tennessee turnovers, Jacksonville finally got its first win of the season overcoming a late rally by the Titans to win 29-27.

The Jaguars (1-8) had been outscored 70-15 in the first quarter this season but found themselves ahead 7-0 early after Titans running back Chris Johnson was stripped of the ball by Paul Posluszny on Tennessee's first offensive play.

"He just came on the outside and I didn't see him. He ripped it out of my hand. He just made a good play," said Johnson about his first fumble of the year.

Trailing 22-13, the Titans scored twice in the final 4:15, the last on a 14-yard TD pass by Fitzpatrick to Delanie Walker with 40 seconds left.

Along with the turnovers, costly penalties hurt the Titans. The Jaguars got a safety when rookie right guard Chance Warmack was called for holding Sen'Derrick Marks. That safety with 7:44 left proved the winning margin.

"We had a lot of things happen today that should never happen to us in any game," coach Mike Munchak said.

Fitzpatrick called the game and outcome frustrating.

11titansfanhelp 600"We had plenty of opportunities there in the second half to comeback. There's a lot of stuff that happened in that game that didn't go our way and a lot of it was because of us," said Fitzpatrick.

"There's nobody to blame but us and we've got a quick turnaround here and have got to get better."

NOTE: The Titans will host the division leading Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.
