Shoppers in Atlanta Already Camping Out for Black Friday

It's only Tuesday, but there are shoppers in line for Black Friday deals at best Buy already. The electronics giant will open its doors to Black Friday shoppers at midnight, but that isn't early enough for a group of teenagers in Kennesaw who have pitched a tent outside the local retailer to assure themselves of being the first inside for the biggest shopping day of the year.

WSB reports that four teens are planning to forgo their Thanksgiving week break from school and use it to camp out in front of a Best Buy in Cobb County.

"Thanksgiving has always been a day of family, and you kind of wonder if it's the right thing to do," said retailing consultant Mary Ellen Brigham.

She told a WSB reporter retailers are hoping to draw shoppers with one or two huge mark downs that will drive other sales.

"You get the person in the door, and then they'll buy a whole bunch of other things that will probably be the same price the next day and the day after that," Brigham said
