Marietta Woman Dies After Being Hit By At Least 3 Different Vehicles

A Marietta woman was hit by at least three different vehicles, including a truck, as she tried to make her way across a road on Saturday night, the AJC reports.

Rochelle Brown was on her way to the store, when a truck struck her shortly before 7 p.m. on North Marietta Parkway near Allgood Road. The truck stopped but several other drivers hit Brown and did not stop. There are no crosswalks in the area. Brown, 53, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where she died early Sunday.

On Monday, Marietta police were still seeking clues on the drivers who hit Brown and did not stop. The victim’s mother, Barbara Brown, told the Journal-Constitution that news of her daughter’s death came as a complete shock.  “Why wouldn’t you stop?”she said Monday night. “We’re humans. We just can’t go around and drive fast and hit somebody and act like that person don’t matter. All of us matter.”

Funeral arrangements are still pending for the victim. Family and friends are hoping that someone will come forward with information about the incident.

“If you do it once, you’re going to do it again,” Brown said.

If you know anything about the hit-and-runs, please contact Marietta police at 770-794-5300.
