      Quinn rejects bill raising electric rates

        Chicago policeman shot by fellow officer

          Police were responding to report a burglary Monday night in the Englewood community when a police officer ended up accidentally shooting a fellow officer.

          The 42-year-old officer was struck in the leg and taken to a local hospital, according to police. The officer he was with on the call was trying to shoot at an attacking dog.

          Man charged in shooting of 10-year-old Chicago boy

            A Chicago man is being accused of shooting a 10-year-old boy as he played football in his front yard on the city's West Side.

            Bond was denied for Darris Moore, 31, who is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. Moore is a convicted felon who was on probation for a 2008 armed robbery.
