Congressman Bobby Rush to Stay on House Energy Subcommittee

(AP) — Congressman Bobby Rush has been re-elected to his position as the ranking Democratic member of a House subcommittee responsible for national energy policy.

Rush's office said Wednesday that a unanimous vote ensured the lawmaker from Chicago will maintain his position on the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Energy and Power.

He will also continue to hold his assignments on the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade and the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.

The Subcommittee on Energy and Power also addresses energy conservation, utility issues and interstate energy compacts. It has jurisdiction over pipelines and the Clean Air Act.

And it provides legislative oversight for the U.S. Department of Energy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
