Beale casts ballot in Congressional race

Chicago Alderman Anthony Beale says voters should send a proven job creator to replace former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in Congress.

He says he has a track record of bringing jobs to his South Side ward.

Beale spoke after casting his ballot Tuesday in the 2nd congressional district Democratic primary.

Juanita Williams went to school with Beale and voted for him. The 47-year-old assistant teacher says Beale helped bring a Wal-Mart to the area and has provided school supplies and Christmas gifts for needy students.

Beale says a powerful get-out-the vote operation in Chicago should help him in the election.

Beale is one of three front-runners for the Democratic primary. The others are former Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson and former state Rep. Robin Kelly.
