The 2011 MED Week National Theme is “Emerging Industries and Markets: A Blue Print for Success.” In Memphis, the hosts are the Tennessee Small Business Development Centers Small Business Administration and the Minority Enterprise Development Corporation.
The Memphis schedule of events and workshops includes:
Mon., Oct. 3 – The MED Week Kickoff Reception to announce business awardees will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn – University of Memphis at 3700 Central Ave.
Tue., Oct. 4 – Human Resource Management from noon to 5 p.m. at the Renaissance Center at 555 Beale Street; How to Do Business With State and Federal Governments, SBA, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wed., Oct. 5 – Marketing through Social Media from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Renaissance Center; Customer Services from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thurs., Oct 6 – Procurement, with Calvin Stevens, United States Government (retired), from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Center; Financial Management, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Networking Reception, 6 p.m. - until at Memphis Sounds at 22 N. Third.
Fri., Oct. 7 – At the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis: 9 a.m., seminar registration; 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., How to do Business with the State of Tennessee; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Business Awards Luncheon.
