MAM to host Patriot Golf Days

Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM) is inviting all area golfers to participate in its second Patriot Golf Days to be held at the MAM Park Golf Course at 2146 Ball Road, Sept. 6 to Sept. 9.

Patriot Golf Day is the flagship fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed in service.

For a minimum donation of $10, golfers of all ages can play nine holes of golf any time from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. One hundred percent of donations go directly to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

“We are excited about the opportunity to have local golfers who have never played the MAM course come out and support such a worthy cause” said Vince Alfonso, Jr., PGA professional. “This is the second year that MAM has hosted this event, which gives MAM a chance to help our military families who have sacrificed so much.”

All golfers can enter a drawing for door prizes donated by local businesses by dropping their scorecard into a box. The drawing will be held Sept 9 at 3 p.m. at the MAM Park Golf Course Clubhouse. Golfers do not have to be present to win.

MAM will also present an award to the player that records the lowest nine-hole score over the four days. And, MAM will also reward the tenacious individual that records the highest nine-hole score over the four days (although very quietly and with little fanfare) with a nine-hole playing lesson with Alfonso.
