MCS Open Enrollment process is in full swing

The Memphis City Schools Open Enrollment and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Transfer process is going on now through Friday, April 29. The Memphis City Schools Open Enrollment and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Transfer process is going on now through Friday, April 29, allowing parents to choose a school other than the one assigned by address, provided space is available.

Bar-coded applications are available in the Office of Student Enrollment and Records from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on weekdays and on the MCS Web site (www.mcsk12.net).

The last four digits of the bar-code number allow them to either drop off a completed application or apply online any time before the priority period ends at 4:45 p.m. on April 29.

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis within priority groupings. Students whose address assigns them to schools that have been designated as “High Priority” by the state of Tennessee receive first consideration to attend a school in “Good Standing.” A list of the schools eligible for ESEA transfers is available from the Office of Student Enrollment and Records or from the MCS Web site.
