Memphis native and former University of Memphis player, Shawne Williams, took the floor against the Grizzlies Wednesday night, scoring five points in 21 minutes for the New York Knicks.

“Shawne (Williams) played great coming off the bench, spreading the court and knocking down three’s,” said new-Knick Carmelo Anthony.  “A lot of times he’s wide open. I tell him every day that his shots are going to be key for us coming down the stretch.”

Williams said it’s nice to come home and get a win.

“The Grizzlies are tough” Williams said.  “We have to take our hats off to them. They’ve been playing well. We knew they were going to be tough.

“They play hard and aggressive. We knew coming into this game they were going to play hard and it was going to be a dogfight.”
