And all players are on board said, point guard Mike Conley.
“I’m all for it, but my hair grows quick,” Conley said. “I hope we make the playoffs quick. We might have the ugliest team in the league after this.”
Hopeful of making it the playoffs, the Grizzlies clearly are coming together on and off the court.
“It’s a great team bonding experience for us,” Conley said. “We like to have fun together but at the same time we’re serious. That’s our goal, to do everything as one team.”
Grizz guard O.J. Mayo asked locker room media reps if they would join in the experience.
“We’ll pass on that,” yelled two guys in the background.
One of the two women who are media regulars in the locker room jokingly suggested that perhaps they could join in by not shaving their legs. Both (me being one) quickly let that notion pass.
Grizz forward Zach Randolph said we’ll see in a week how the beard idea grows on him.
Whether the Grizz are pulling the legs of those who report on them, one thing is certain: there is gain in unity.
