Supermodel (of the world?) Naomi Campbell was in a New York City courtroom recently, answering charges that she hit her maid in the back of the head with a cell phone. The alleged wound required several stitches to close.
The maid said Campbell got angry when she couldn’t find a certain pair of jeans. She accused her help of stealing them, an altercation ensued, and bam came the flying cell phone.
Campbell denies this is what happened. If convicted, Miss Thing could spend up to seven years in prison, and be deported back to Britain where she came from.
All parties were ordered back in court Sept. 27, at which time, the judge could accept a plea deal. (Stay tuned.)
In other Naomi Campbell news, another former housekeeper has charged the apparently temperamental supermodel with physically slapping her around, false imprisonment, hitting her in the head with a Blackberry phone, emotional distress, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
According to one Amanda Brack, Campbell verbally and physically abused her after a particularly emotional attack ended with her being hit with a Blackberry phone, causing physical damage. Allegedly, this is what happened.
Brack even alleges an incident where Campbell tore up her passport on an overseas trip, an act with dire consequences if Brack ever planned on returning to the states. After being hired to work for the fashion lady in February 2005, Brack had enough and quit last July. An unspecified amount of damages is being sought against Campbell. (Stay tuned again.)
