Launch day for the new JET Magazine Digital App

Today, Johnson Publishing Company (JPC) launched its new JET magazine app. The app replaces the printed edition of the magazine.
 
The new digital magazine app will add fresh content on a weekly basis, every Friday.  Readers will access to 3D images, video interviews, enhanced digital maps, audio content and photography from the JPC archives. 
 
The app will be available on all tablet and mobile platforms via a free introductory offer of 30 days for all subscribers. 

American Bar Association makes Judge Bernice Donald an award winner

Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Bernice B. Donald is the recipient of the 2014 John H. Pickering Award of Achievement, presented by the Senior Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.
 
In her letter nominating Donald for the award, Fremont, Calif., attorney Pauline Weaver wrote, “Judge Donald represents the best of the profession. She has consistently demonstrated the kind of integrity, legal ability, access to justice and public service that would make John Pickering proud. She is uniquely qualified for the award.”
 
Washington, D.C., lawyer Brooksley Born, chair of the Pickering Award Selection Committee, said, “Bernice Donald has followed in John Pickering’s footsteps in her strong commitment to equal justice, her devotion to the legal profession and her generosity in mentoring younger lawyers.”

National Civil Rights Museum launches eLearning Lunch Counter Sit-in

 
Verizon and the National Civil Rights Museum have teamed up to deliver a desitins 600new eLearning Lunch Counter Sit-In program modeled after the museum’s Standing Up By Sitting Down exhibit. 
 
 
The eLearning Lunch Counter Sit-In will be a round-the-clock educational program serving middle school and high school students across the U.S.  The program will discuss in detail the Greensboro Four, the risks they faced and the spread of the sit-in strategy. It will promote a classroom discussion on the themes of nonviolence, system injustice, segregation by law and by choice, and inaction versus action, among others.
