Andrea Johnson, owner of The Bubble Bistro, and James Wesby, creator of Blocally, will be the guest speakers during Networking in Memphis' Lunch & Learn!
The networking event is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alcenia's Southern Cuisine, at 317 N. Main St. It is sponsored by The New Tri-State Defender.
Johnson will speak on "Women in Business." Wesby will detail "The Must Have App for Black-Owned Businesses."
Bubble Bistro is a handmade skincare store started by Johnson, who created a business out of her love for holistic beauty. The former financial analyst for the U.S. government makes products in the store with natural ingredients that are imported from various points of the glob. Customers can select from 125-plus scents.
Wesby is the co-founder of Blocally, along with Darnell Clayton. The mobile application is designed to "connect consumers with black localized content." Essential to the app is a list of black-owned businesses. According to its website, Blocally "helps raise a level of consciousness towards spending money with black owned businesses, as well as afford you the opportunity to establish a personal goal, where you can monitor spending."
