TSD iTeen: Emma’s ‘got-Talent’ moment

AGT2-600

The highly popular talent show "Americas Got Talent" rolled into Memphis recently in search of unique and jaw-dropping talents. My guitarist/ singer-friend, Emma Web, got word of the audition from her mother.

Emma immediately shifted into search-mode, looking high and low for the perfect song to sing at the "America's Got Talent" (AGT) audition that she secured by waiting in line for almost an hour.

Luckily, her mother, Paula Web, is the perfect stage-mom and had snacks and drinks on hand. That's not all. Emma told me her mother kept her calm the entire time, constantly reminding her to do just that while just doing her best.

In spite of the reputation AGT has for bringing out the craziest talents, the strangest thing Emma reported seeing was a woman with wacky puppets.

It will be sometime in January before Emma gets the word on whether she made it to the next round. We wish her luck and hope to see her on the episode highlighting AGT's visit to the home of the blues and the birthplace of rock "n" roll!

(Deidra Shores, former NBC "Today Show Kid Reporter," had added her skills to The New Tri-State Defender, where she is the TSD iTeen Reporter.)
