Soul Celebration to honor J. Blackfoot and Jackson Brown

Memphis Soul Legend J. Blackfoot will be honored this month during a special anniversary celebration touting local deejay “Downtown” Jackson Brown’s 25th year in radio.  Memphis Soul Legend J. The celebration will take place at the Whitehaven Entertainment Complex on April 15.  The Headliner will be Michael Cooper of Confunkshun, with special guest appearances from neo soul artist Laura Luke, and  DJ Jusborne.

A  Memphis music staple, Jackson has emceed, deejayed, promoted and produced some of the greatest hits and hit makers of Soul, Hip-Hop and R&B, and wants to remember the Memphis Music Legends. J Blackfoot, originally of Soul Children fame, has enjoyed a successful solo career, and will be the first featured honoree.  Brown will a host series of honor programs, featuring a different local legend each month.

In addition to a maintaining a huge listener base as the midday personality on Soul Classics 103.5, Jackson Brown is in the community, personally donating time, awards and financial support to deserving students at Fairview Middle School; he is President of Memphis Police Ambassadors Program (Hickory Hill); and promotes programs that help provide food and toys to the needy.

The purpose of this program is threefold: to honor a true Memphis music legend

J Blackfoot; celebrate Jackson Brown’s 25 years in the music industry; and provide a topnotch entertainment event for the Memphis community.
