If you are going to be in Memphis this weekend, the chances are pretty high that you are going to encounter someone who is somehow connected to the Southern Heritage Classic.

Yes, it’s Southern Heritage Classic Weekend, No. 22 and there is a lot going on. From concerts featuring The O’Jays, Kem and Anthony David, to comedy shows and fashion shows, a golf tournament, tailgaiting…well, you get the point.

Get the full scoop in this week’s TSD special edition tribute to the ‘Classic.’

I have no idea who’s gonna win, but I’m about 100 percent sure it’s gonna be the Tigers. Yeah, that joke never gets old. LOL

Eugene Duffy, who worked as deputy chief administrative officer alongside Atlanta Mayors Maynard Jackson and Andrew Young, will share what it required from all sectors of the Atlanta community to produce opportunities such as the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport expansion and the 1996 Olympic Games and ultimately fuel the growth of minority business receipts.

The University Club is located at 1346 Central Ave. General Admission is $15. RSVP to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 901-414-3315, ext. 2.

Birthday party recap

“Wow” is just about all I can say. If you wanna know who cares about you, just throw a party and see who shows up. Out of all of the well wishes, birthday cards and gifts, I can truly say that someone cares about Myron.

I had a great time at the Zodiac Lounge this past Saturday night. Some of my closest friends, colleagues and acquaintances dropped in to wish me a happy 38th birthday. I even had relatives come in from out of town. My VIP guests got a chance to dine on some of Zodiac Lounge’s signature wings and meatballs and dance the night away. As I type, I am still a little sleepy from all of that partying. It was well worth it though. So just in case you missed out, write this on your calendar for next year: Sept. 1, 2012, 10 p.m. It will be at the Zodiac Lounge once again.

Now how’s that for advance notice?
