Aaron Jordan Jr. is on a mission to touch one million people’s lives through his book, “The Power Within, a Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes.” A self-help relationship author, coach and motivational speaker, the book, he said, was written to enrich women and empower men in relationships.
With books on hand, Jordan will be in attendance at the TFC Media Studio at 2988 Old Austin Peay on Sunday (July 13th) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. He will be available to answer questions and autograph copies of his book.
Jordan will be celebrating as a first-time author and avail himself as the latest contributor to the “self-help” genre and as an advisor of male and female relationships.
“The Power Within, a Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes” was published in April by Tate Publishing & Enterprises, LLC, a Christian-based, family-owned, mainline publishing organization in Mustang, Okla. The official release date is July 22.
Jordan initially self-published the book in March of 2013; Tate re-published it a year later. A second book, the next installment of a two-part series, is set to roll off the press soon. The title is “Harnessing Your Worth: Understanding Your Value.”
Jordan said dating and engaging in relationships is a misconstrued concept. In “The Power With,” he unveils the secrets to repairing broken relationships and explains the role that both men and women should play if they choose to strengthen and solidify the What prompted the author to write this book?
“My past was very traumatic in dealing with relationships,” said Jordan, who had considered suicide twice over a failed relationship. That and other dour experiences provided the impetus that launched his “calling” as a self-help guru on repairing relationships and understanding one’s intrinsic worth.
“I’ve gotten past that period in my life and come face to face with it,” he said. “Now I’m able to articulate my experiences to help other people. So you just can’t continue to devalue yourself just to have someone in your life.”
Writing is a way to release, said Jordan, adding that he had been asked for advice on dating and relationships at least two years before the idea of a book had come to mind.
“It turned into an awesome thing,” he said.
ordan is no longer in the dating game. He has been married a year and has a 9-year-old daughter.
“I wanted to be an example for my daughter,” he said. “Children watch their parents. My daughter is very observant, as I am, and said she’s proud of me.”
Jordan has a fulltime job in the Operations Department at Southwest Airlines. A native Memphian, he graduated from Whitehaven High School, attended Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., for a year, and played basketball and studied business and marketing at Christian Brothers College.
After a four-year hiatus, Jordan retooled and returned to college in 2008. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business marketing in 2013 from the University of Phoenix.
“Hopefully by the end of the year, I will be writing fulltime and pursuing other entrepreneurial endeavors,” he said.
